With mixed emotions, we closed Healthy Chef Meals on Friday, January 25, 2019. It has been a fantastic journey and a fulfilling experience, but after considerable thought, I have made the difficult decision to step back, take a breath, and find new ways to continue working towards the dream of a healthier Shreveport-Bossier. We started HCM in 2012 with the mission of bringing convenient, plant-based, and healthy meal options to our area. Over 6 ½ years later, I am proud when I look back upon the tens of thousands of meals we have prepared for our customers. As the first 100% plant-based business in the Shreveport/Bossier City area, we are excited to see the number of choices that are now available!
I plan to take a few months off, reenergize, and think about other food and health related ventures. The plant-based, organically-minded movement in our community is strong– and getting stronger! Stepping away from HCM will allow me to engage with this community in new ways.

Healthy Chef Meals
My plan to take “a few months off” to reenergize through travel and taking time to focus on our family, now fulfilled, so now it’s time to get back in the game. Over the summer I completed the Plant Based Nutrition Certification from T. Colin Campbell’s Center for Nutritional Studies and eCornell. I’m currently enrolled with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for a Health Coach certification and in February I will be training with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to become a Food For Life Instructor! My first venture in 2020 will be offering small group cooking classes. Information will be posted on Facebook.
